That was for me an unforgettable night. At first because I met some really nice persons (Angélique, Stéphane, Séverine) and then because there was obviously a Cock Robin Show ! I can't compare with the night before cause I didn''t see the performance but after my St Malo 1st Cock Robin show and under the privileged conditions that made me to come in Paris I enjoyed each note like a beautiful fireworks.
So, that was a graceful time and I thank you the band for giving it. Here is the setlist I was given from the stage :
That was probably the planned set but they played the following songs after "The Promise you made" :
- Open Book
- Dear Life
- Hunting Down a Killer
- I thought you Were on my Side (thank you Stéphane for decisive intervention !)
Let's talk about the performance now. Nice beginning with "I'll send them your way" before a captivating "After all's said and done". Then Peter introduced the next song with these words : "This song is for you guys", it was "When your heart is weak". Powerful moment for the audience.
"C'est toujours à ce moment là qu'ils me quittent" (They always leave me at this point, but Peter told it in french !), yep he was alone now for a transcendant "Only the very best" that push me to think that this singer should be in his lifetime canonized for his heavenly voice. The acoustic versions of "El norte" and "Just around the Corner" are magnificent. Anna's voice just really blends very well with Peter's guitare. A great moment.
"Il fait très chaud, sorry for you guys !", funny words from Anna before she slipped out of her suit to be more comfortable. Apparently, boys in the audience enjoyed this moment ! "Just keep sweetie" she said with a big smile Another funny moment when Pat came back from the behind the scenes and gave Peter a bier, "not very good for the voice" he said but drunk a little sip all the same !
Before singing "Under the star which I was born" Peter said a few words about his admiration for Michel Polnareff whose this song is a translated cover. He discovered this french artist in 1991 in a TV video when he was learning the language. Fantastic cover, I really enjoyed it.
I'm personnally fond of "Worlds appart" and I really had a great time during this one. Before "Hunting Down a Killer" Peter thanked producer Thierry Suc for making Cock Robin this come back in France. Anna told then she saw a sign during the 1st night asking for "I though you were on my side", so they simply granted this wish. Very beautiful ending song. The band seemed very moved by audience reception. We're now waiting impatiently for a new show. But for now, thank you Cock Robin.
After the show we were lucky to meet Pat, Peter and then Anna, took some pics, they were very kind and welcoming and that''s probably the other reason why we love them. _________________ I used to be schyzophrenic but we're ok now. |
