If anybody can help and improve the text below, that would be nice... No more red zones here but if there's something troubling you, just let us know!

Through The Years (amended #6)

Say it if you mean it
Or say nothing at all
Be my judgement
But don't jive me
As clear as a picture
That's nailed to the wall
It's only trouble you're inviting

A fast break
Or just passing through
Gets lost into growth
To meet

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

The rich and the famous
Then somewhere below
You were born to sex and scandal
The last of the Stooges
Curly and Moe
I was born to make example
In sad shape
Our dream boat for two
Just not in the mood
To leave

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them
I've abused them

Say it if you mean it
Or say nothing at all
Be my judgement
But don't jive me

The word is the difference
Left out in the hall
Even darkness
Can be enlightening
The red rain or skies full of blue
I'd give them to you
For free

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
(I've abused them)
Through the years
(Through the years)
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

Through the years

(Thanks to AndreaB for her precious help)

Through The Years (amended #4)

Say it if you mean it
Or say nothing at all
Beat my judgement
But don't jive me
As clear as a picture
This nail to the wall
It's only trouble you're inviting

A fast break
Or just passing through
Gets lost in the groove
To me

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

The rich and the famous
Live somewhere below
You have brought us sex and scandal
The last of the Stooges
Curly and Moe
I was bound to take this gamble?
In sad shape
I dream of her too
Just not in the mood
To leave

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them

Say it if you mean it
Or say nothing at all
Beat my judgement
But don't jive me

The word is the difference
Left out on a hole
Even darkness
Can be enlightening
The red ring or scotch full of blues
I'd give them to you
For free

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
Through the years
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

Take my eyes
I can't use them
I've already seen
(I've abused them)
Through the years
(Through the years)
I've abused them
It was all just a crazy dream

Through the years
I love this song. It's probably my favorite on the new album... so I thought I'd give it a shot. Some areas are very tricky on what I think I'm hearing. Good job on a very difficult song!

Say it if you mean it
Or say nothing at all
Be my judgement
But don't jive me.
As clear as a picture
That's nailed to the wall

A fast break

Through the years

Then somewhere below
You were born to sex and scandal
The last of the stooges
Curly and Moe
I was born to make example
In sad shape
Our dream boat for two
Just not in the mood
To leave

Take my eyes.......

The word is the difference
Left out in the hall
Even darkness can be enlightening
The red (rain?) ring? or scotch full of blues
I'd give them to you
For free

Take my eyes........

Thanks ever so much for your precious help Andrea, it's very much appreciated, I had almost given up on this one Sad It's very good to have an input from an American speaker, it helps a lot!

I've got a question: how did you get hold of their last album: is it on sale in America or did you order it from the Internet (or downloaded it?)

You are very welcome Regis. Even as an American speaker, I had a very difficult time with that one, and not exactly sure still.

To answer your question, I downloaded the album from Itunes. Unfortunately as you know, C.R. isn't recognized as they should be here in the States. But they have always had a special place in my heart and I am forever craving any news about them. Take care and you did an amazing job with all the lyrics, especially being a dual language person!

j'adore cette chanson c'est ma préférée de l'album
et en ce qui concerne les paroles, merci infiniment à tous de vous donner autant de mal,
il y a un passage où je crois entendre :
A RUN RAIN OR A SKY FULL OF BLUE
maintenant je ne sais pas si ça peut vous aider.
merci encore à tous.

I suggest that

"Gets lost into growth to meet" should be "Gets lost in the groove,to me"

Lanod.

You are probably right... that does roll out a lot better. Mr. Green
I kept hearing a "th" sound for some odd reason.
